Does EagleGet track user downloads?

Hello. I really like EagleGet and am considering it for a writeup on my technology blog: feewaregenius.com

However, I came across a comment somewhere (on the EagleGet FreewareFiles page) that this software tracks users' downloads.
Can you please comment on this: does EagleGet call home and if so does it do so for anything other than update checks?

I wonder if the person thought that clipboard/browser monitoring was some other form of monitoring. Please advise.

Thanks.

Re: Does EagleGet track user downloads?

Hi krudi,

Thank you very much for your interest on EagleGet!!

I can guarantee that EagleGet does NOT tracks users' downloads. smile

EagleGet will only upload the following 3 types of data to our server:
1. Client system's Windows version, browser version after successful installation, which helps us improve EagleGet (does NOT contain any privacy data)
2. Crash dump (also does NOT contain any privacy data)
3. Update check

Clipboard/browser monitoring helps EagleGet add download tasks successfully, this process does not communicate with our server.

If you have any more questions, I'll be happy to answer them. smile

Best Regards,
Mayer
