Re: DOWNLOAD STABLITY

123, I see no sign of this on my machine.  I test (http://www.speedtest.net/) my DL speed every day and it is very stable.  Are you sure it is not just your ISP?  Please test your DL speed and post a screen shot of the graph shown on the DL - place mouse pointer into the DL speed window at the top.  Enjoy, J.

Hi 123,

Were you downloading EagleGet setup file from our server? If so, I can't reproduce this problem...

This problem is same for all downloads. Not oly in your server.
My download speed is low sometimes.you can try limiting the network speed (30-60kb\s)
and then downloading using eagleget.I think this instability is experienced only in slow connections.

But if i use the speed limiter the download is quite stable.

Thank You.

Re: DOWNLOAD STABLITY

123, here are a couple of screen shots of a small and large transfer using EG on W7 x64 running a VM - OK I do not know how to include a .jpg file.  I use a display utility called NetMeter which shows the transfer rates during the DL and it is very flat.  It does vary with the file and server.  I am very positively impressed with EG and its port management.  In my case I do need a few more ports to keep my ISP speed at the maximum.  I also use TCPView (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysi … 97437.aspx).  It shows the ports in use and I can see at the end of the transfer that EG is finishing some segments, closing some ports and opening new ports.  This keeps the transfer rate from trailing off at the end of a transfer as some DLMs suffer.  I hope I can figure how to post a .jpg and you can see.  When I test using speedtest.net, the graph is essentially flat.  It is much better (flatter) than it was on a older, and slower, modem I used to have.  Enjoy, John.

BTW, 123, what version of Windows are you using (32/64 bit) and what browser?

Re: DOWNLOAD STABLITY

I use chrome and opera on windows 7.NetMeter shows the download speed is quite stable.
I think the speed calculator of eagleget is making an error.

Re: DOWNLOAD STABLITY

123, the EG transfer looks quite stable during most of the transfer.  At the end when ports are being closed and new ones opened, then the speed numbers are unstable.  Perhaps this is what you are seeing.  Enjoy, John.

Re: DOWNLOAD STABLITY

No please watch these videos. http://www.fileconvoy.com/dfl.php?id=gd … 25636df88c
In the netmeter the speed is stable and netmeter shows a different speed.(no background applications were using the internet)
So,I think the problem is with the speed calculator of eagleget.

Thank you master j

Re: DOWNLOAD STABLITY

123, I think your observations are correct.  I do not see this behavior on my system and perhaps it is because of the large difference in our available DL rate.  I pay little attention to an application's speed reports and concentrate on the NetMeter display.  I think EG is just trying to give a ballpark indication of DL speeds.  Enjoy, John.

Re: DOWNLOAD STABLITY

123, I would suggest that this should be a fairly low priority for EagleGet.  Enjoy, John.

No this is a serious problem. The bug in the speed calculator also causes many other problems.

It shows wrong speed and 0kb/s in taskmonitor and at last it crashes.

Re: DOWNLOAD STABLITY

123, I do not know what causes the hang or the crash.  The developers will have to look at your dumps (I assume you are sending them).  Enjoy, J.

Re: DOWNLOAD STABLITY

123, the dump file name will be "%LocalAppData%\Temp\EagleGet(1.0.2.0).dmp".  Since there is just the one file and not a folder, this will be just the latest crash.  The easiest way to send the dump is with the crash dialog.  At the bottom is an input area to specify the conditions that lead to the crash.  I am sure the developers will be glad to see the latest dump you have (file hosting site) or just recreate the crash and send the dump via the dialog.  Enjoy, J.
